A wonderful example of an early pattern
dress tunic for a senior NCO of the 32nd Infantry Regiment. This
item and the sword that accompanied it came directly from an estate sale
purchase made in Germany in the 1990's from the original family members
of this soldier who was killed in combat during WWII. The tunic is
untouched as is the dress sword, and comes with all the insignia,
buttons, and awards that were originally pinned to the tunic more than
60 years ago. The tunic shows only slight wear on the surface and
the sword is complete with scabbard showing nearly 100% paint and no
dents. The blade is bright and shows no age marks or sharpening.
This is a fantastic find for anyone who wants to have both items from
the same soldier. Awards include the DRL sports badge (early
version) in bronze and the Iron Cross (EKII) ribbon. Unfortunately
the family preferred to have the name of the soldier withheld, so there
is no official documentation as to the original owner, however I
guarantee all items are original to the set and have not been tampered
with or repaired in anyway. Tunic has the original maker label on
the inside and has all buttons and hooks present.
