Original wartime
photographs can assist historians, collectors, and researchers establish
a better understanding of their subject. Often times photographic
evidence for a particular helmet configuration can verify or
dispel long-held collector beliefs. German-Helmets.org is
pleased to present this indexed database containing more than 300
original wartime photos depicting the German helmet in use from 1921
through 1945.
Many of
the images archived here are from other sources found online, museum archives, from
private collections, and also from other little known sources. The
original source is credited with each photograph and is copyrighted unless
otherwise noted. Please
enjoy the photographs, learn from them, and if you have any that you would like to share, please

If you have a specific need to use an image from these
archives on your own website or in a publication of any kind, please contact
the webmaster for information and permission agreements. Many of these images are
one-of-a-kind, privately owned, and/or obtained with significant effort from
